Ultimate Gig Book Tracking for Q1 2021 Release
Ultimate Gig Special Report, published in June 2019, was the precursor to ongoing research and writing focused on the gig economy phenomenon. Long before the events and changes that we have experienced as a result of COVID-19, it had become apparent to the Ultimate Gig team that eCommerce options relative to purchasing products and services were becoming preferred choices. The incredible growth and compound annual growth rate of Amazon over the past five years was excellent proof.
It had also become apparent that alternative work agreements were beginning to replace our traditional definitions of work. The nine to five hours of the traditional employee-employer relationship were becoming inclusive of flex time. Also apparent was the growing popularity of gig work.
People often think of gig work as driving for Uber; however, as we discovered, there is so much more. Freelance work opportunities enabled by such companies as Upwork connect those interested in providing services with those in need of assistance. The two entities involved do not need to be local; they can be global. In other words, through connectors such as Upwork, a freelancer can provide a service to a client that may be in another state, cross country, and even in another country.
In this and future newsletters, we will begin to provide you with a glimpse of what to expect from the Ultimate Gig book when it is released.
The possibilities are very exciting for micro-entrepreneurs.
The future is always coming faster than we think.
